Best Wishes Ms. Chia-Ching Lin!

We want to wish a fond farewell to Ms. Chia-Ching Lin, who is moving on from Meyerholz to her new job as an assistant principal in the Hayward Unified School District. She was with our CLIP program for 14 years as a teacher in multiple grades.  
Several parents were on hand during Ms. Lin’s last day on Friday, and threw her a surprise farewell party during her after-school baking class.  Parent volunteer Julie Wann organized students to put together a scrapbook of memories past and present. Other parents presented her with a giant card with warm thoughts from the many who signed it. Parent volunteer and CLIPCO rep Alan Fong also presented Ms. Lin with a plaque to commemorate her participation in the CLIP program. The parents did a great job in pulling this together so quickly and in keeping it a secret.

While we are sad to lose Ms. Lin as a teacher, she will continue to be a part of our CLIP community as a parent.  Thank you Ms. Lin for your many years of service and dedication to the CLIP program!  We wish you the best in your future endeavors, and are glad we will continue to see you here as a CLIP parent!

Congrats to Lyria and Ray Zhu - Winners in the Beijing 13th National Youth Talent TV Show

Congratulations to two of our CLIP students, 7th grader Lyria Zhu and 4th grader Ray Zhu.  Both Lyria and Ray went to Beijing this summer to compete in two national contests.   One contest is the 4th Huayun Cup National Mandarin Speech Contest. Lyria's solo speech ‘Rain of  Osmanthus Flowers (桂花雨) ’ won 1st place - champion of all international groups which includes competitors from six countries. The other contest is the 13th National Youth Talent TV show, and both Lyria and Ray were members in a group performance (dancing, speech, and magic combo show).  Ray and Lyria gave speeches in Chinese.   The group was granted the  'Gold Award' by the referee committee. Qing Zhu, Ray and Lyria's father, says, "We are so grateful that Meyerholz, Miller and CLIP has been providing excellent bilingual education and resources for Ray and Lyria!
